Courageous

Courage is like writing, black and isolated on white, you have to put the first word,

Down and singly forlorn, standing naked on the page before the rest can come,

To tell the abstruse and unsaid reality, you must fight things you haven't yet heard,

And wait alone for the other words to rise black and strong to the beat of truth's drum.

I want to write you letters, to buy you flowers, to run my fingers through your hair.
