Hello, Goodbye

Hello is the best word to say So full of possibilities and chances It's better than goodbyes which leave you dismayed For with hellos you don't wish for one last glance So it's strange that the word hell is in hello And the word good shouldn't be in goodbye When hellos are good, all about getting to know And goodbyes give you the hell you wish to deny.     -anna sluder

The Hurt

She told him that it's okay to hurt her   Because she has thick skin   But that's not what she meant when the gun came out in a blur   So to save herself she screamed that it was actually thin.     -anna sluder

The Chase

I pursued your heart and followed your soul,   In a streaming thinned out race,   Between you and me with no one in control,   And you laughed when you asked for more space,   For I didn't understand and asked you to cut to the chase.     -anna sluder

Heaven's Postcard

I smile at the letters written in the rain,   Ink smeared words from God above,   Enveloped in wet puddle stains,   Letters of hope and letters of love.     -anna sluder

What's Behind

What if behind that blue sky, The world was really white? So when dark comes and the moon flies, It's not a planet, but a crack in the night?     -anna sluder

Blind of Self

You tell others they have such a beauty,   And your eyes aren't blind or full of scars,   So how can you not surely see?   How unprecedentedly beautiful you truly are.     -anna sluder

The Art of Being Silent

The silence calls to be heard,   In this chaos no one has noticed,   That silence is more than air unstirred,   It's a precious sound we haven't yet witnessed.     -anna sluder

Limitless Love

I love you tender, My dear I love you sweet, Whether you are beauty and splendor, Or homeless upon the street.     -anna sluder

Something Blue

i drink blue Kool-Aid from the sky and chomp on blue cotton candy from the heights blue suddenly becomes the color of my eyes and only blue things feel right i make a paper boat out of the clouds and let it drown in the deep blue for the sky once vowed to make blue its only hue i pick blueberries from the bushes of the land far above and ride the horizon on a single blue bike i'd say that this bluish love is so incandescently dreamlike for the reason that i have fallen in love with blue is that it reminds me of that blue sky for i want something in my heart so true just like everything in that blue sky, i want to fly.       -anna sluder

Fly

I saddled up the black ink, And didn't even think, As I jumped on its back, And rode those words so black, Soaring up so high, Into a novelist's tan paged sky, We flit from left to right, As it showed me the dark and the light, A world of colors and one in black and white, It let the stars burn in my hand, And know the pain of drowning in quicksand, But in it all, We flew and didn't fall, Like the Icarus one once wrote, So instead we just float, Along the valleys and mountains, Of the black curls of a pen, And no wonder a book has two flaps, Attached to that spiny binding gap, As I desperately need to cling, To the book's gliding wings.   -anna sluder
