Be

I see a place far out in the distance, A place for just you and me Where there is no fear or pressure in this indelible instant Only the ability to let ourselves just be.  -anna sluder

Morning Wakeup

Her hair is falling off the side of the bed Skimming the floor abandoned of where his clothes should be  Then rolling over to find an empty space in the bedsheets spread Her heart tumbles off the mattress with knowing the weight of his fleeing.  -anna sluder

How to Live

If I become deaf, I hope it is from the laughter of children If I am blind, I hope it is because my eyes searched too much for people to help If I become mute, I hope it is from singing and praising your name And if I die, I hope it is because I gave my everything to serve you.  -anna sluder

Fireflies

Why do fireflies glow in the dark of the night, Even though they can't brighten the sky that far, I wonder if it's just a desire to become a part of light, And join the infinite group of stars.  -anna sluder

The Universe in a Bottle

If you could bottle the universe,  Could use it for anything you planned, Would it be a blessing or a curse, To have the stars at your calling demand?  -anna sluder

Lane of Hope

He let his dreams drive far but his hope go wider The fervor in his hope running straight past memory lane Because he never needed the reminder of how they once were All he needs is to run down the tracks of hope's train.  -anna sluder

UnBroken

Do you ever feel invincible, like you can never be broken? That is how I feel when I am here with you, Like you would choose me again and again,  And you would never break my heart as long as each day is new.  -anna sluder

Half and Whole

I feel like the sunlight, coming down in slotted rays Like someone put their spread fingers in front of the sun  Slicing my skin into halves by light that falls stray Yet making me whole again and finally just one.  -anna sluder

My Stay

I will stay with you the way the stars keep to the night, In constellations that stretch for infinity, And in the way that dark keeps to the light, Hoping that you will do the same for me.  -anna sluder
