The Good Days

I remember the good days  The days we used to lie under the juniper trees Where we would drip into a love  That was as soft as the breeze I remember the good days  Where we ate ripen peaches under the sun And at night we would stargaze  When the universe became one  And I remember the good days Where we plucked flowers among the bees My darling those were the good days When you used to love me. -anna sluder

L.O.V.E.

Love curls in the color of butterfly wings It rises like dust in the sunlit air  Love isn't in the size of the diamond wedding ring It is measured and cultivated in the beautiful entities that you care.  -anna sluder

The Singing Garden

She searched for what could mollify the hurt, the fury, and the hate But she believed in the healing of song, so she opened the white picket fence gate Crouched upon her knees, she delved into the soil Gouging and tunneling the earth in toil  No shovels, naked hands, ragged nails and all She spaded and sifted for a remedy so small  A seed that when sown, and it's petals spread  Would warble of a people where kindness is inbred  For us to learn how to love despite our flaws So I excavated the seed and brought it to the soil, new and raw  And watered it and guided it, growing away from strife  And when it finally sang, it whistled  ten words, "Love is the harmony to the melody of this life."  -anna sluder

The Sun on my Skin

The sun on my skin Is like being held in your arms Something pure and warm like after a long day letting your hair down unpinned,  Knowing I am free to let go and hold on all  at once for here I will never fear harm.  -anna sluder

This Way

You were everything to me The blue sky when mine looked gray  But out of all the ways our love could be  I hope you feel the same way.  -anna sluder
