Nothing but Love
If there is no love left in this world Then gut the stars from the sky Rattle the moon until it falls down like ribbon unfurled And wring the ocean dry    Stifle the sunlight until it suffocates Flick the birds from the trees Stomp upon the flower petals like an African dance gait    And etherize the wind into an asthmatic wheeze    Let us burn the clocks into ticking ashes Drain the sky of its blue    Exchange our souls for meager cash    Tear out our hair and set fire to our clothes too    For we are nothing without love    Like a bird without wings    Or wings without the bird to trust    So that nothing is love without us.        -anna sluder
