Translucency is Opaque

Mama always said that glass isn't always clear
You have to look differently because it's translucent and a mirror
We think by our own intentions, but by other people's actions
So through the glass you see the world only in fractions
That's why mama always said never look through a window
Because we condemn for what we see and don't truly know
It's one thing to look through than on the other side of the glass
Since peering through, we thing everything they do is too bad
But we create a world of windows around ourselves to criticize
Never even thinking how they look at us in their eyes
Because oh yes! we are the rulers of judgement and not them
But glass is translucent on the other side too so they can condemn
Maybe I should look at the reflection of only myself then
And stop using it as a magnifying glass to scrutinize other men
And I think mama was wrong, we should always look through a window
So we can see how they never look at us and never judge though
Windows show us the evil in ourselves and the good in others
And if the world saw this we wouldn't be scorners instead of brothers
Mama always said windows show us judgment will and has won
But what I will always say is that it is windows that show us redemption.
