Weight of the World

People do not carry the weight of the world upon their shoulders
They bear it in their minds
Like thousands of rocks and boulders
Filling up every space it can find
Dark thoughts are not harbored on your collar bone
They swirl and breed inside of your head
Deep inside where no one can hear your moan
And you swear every fear that you think, no one has said
And you feel so alone in these thoughts
Because there's nobody there to tell you that they feel it too
And that it is in fact worth fighting for your lot
For the world truly does want you
We don't carry the weight upon our shoulders, the pain
We hold it in our thoughts spattered in black and red
Which is why no one makes their shoulders slain
Instead they hold the gun to their head.
