Wish I Could Stay

He wished that he could be the shore for her
Sands that kept her grounded and always stayed
But it couldn't be like how they once were
For she rolled into his arms and then out, stayed and then swayed
But through all the years of each burst of warm waves
And then leaving him overnight, soggen with abandonment
He decided that there love wasn't worth being saved
If she was in and then out every moment
So gradually he was bulldozed away and didn't hold onto her waves
Or kiss the veins of her waters and their white foam blood
Until eventually he sunk into a new beach, a new grave
And watched her from afar drowning in her own flood.
